Germany will no longer impose compulsory quarantine on people infected with the coronavirus from May 1st.
Germany covid-19 quarantine rules: They are now voluntary
Germany’s Health Minister Karl Lauterbach made the announcement on Monday. He said that, ”isolation remains strongly recommended but it will be on voluntary basis”.
The only exceptions are employees of medical institutions, who must continue to isolate for five days if they catch the virus, reported Thelocal.
Despite the fact infections remain at an all time high, with most cases reported to be mild, Germany has eased many coronavirus laws and regulations and even lifted the requirement to wear masks in shops and in schools.
