Germany Corona Summit: Federal government and prime ministers extend lockdown until March 28- ‘everyone must get vaccinated’

Germany Corona summit again: Chancellor Angela Merkel and the prime ministers of the Länder are discussing possible steps to relax the coronavirus lockdown restrictions. A draft resolution has already appeared in the press.

Some decisions have already been made. Restrictions will continue until March 28, at the same time there should be additional relaxation.

According to the DPA, the blockade to combat the pandemic in Germany is to be extended until March 28. The German news agency learned this on Wednesday from several sources. A final decision on future measures is still pending.

At the same time, there will be a cautious relaxation. Private meetings with another household should be possible again with up to five people. It remains unclear whether larger family holidays will be allowed at Easter.

The Corona summit was originally scheduled to begin today at 2 p.m., but began a little later. According to information from the summit, the leaders of the Länder are angry with the Minister of Health, Jens Spahn, because of the quick tests.

Initially, the plan of the Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) provided that each citizen should receive a free quick test twice a week. However, in the current draft resolution it only mentions one test per citizen per week.

It seems that there are still many problems with the rapid testing strategy and ordering of tests. As reported by the newspaper “Bild”, there will be no “nationwide availability until April” for the rapid tests.

The planned testing strategy of the Ministry of Health would be in jeopardy. Therefore, the leaders of the Länder are angry with the Federal Minister of Health, Jens Spahn (CDU).

Chancellor Angela Merkel defended Spahn at the conference. A specially created group should be in charge of ordering the quick tests.

The press conference after the summit can be watched below:

Doctors should be able to vaccinate in their offices from Easter (early April).

The vaccination rate of the population will increase significantly.

Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) has called for more vaccinations during the Germany Corona Summit. Everyone who can receive the jab must present themselves. “Everything we can vaccinate,” Söder said, according to information provided by the German news agency. We need to get out of the rigid “vaccination bureaucracy” with more flexibility.

Therefore, all doctors must be involved as soon as possible, general practitioners in private practices, company doctors, hospitals and then school doctors.
