Bank robbery in Germany: Unknown thieves broke into a bank in the German city of Norderstedt (Schleswig-Holstein) through a hole in an apartment made next to the bank. Shortly after this, an apartment in the same building was burnt down.
Inside a building in the city of Norderstedt, a neighbouring apartment was burnt down after a bank branch was stormed. According to investigations, unidentified persons stormed the bank after the end of working hours on Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, police said Monday evening, August 9.
A bank employee noticed the break-in on Sunday afternoon and reported it to the police. On Monday morning, a fire broke out in an apartment in the same building.
It is being investigated as to whether there could be any connection between the bank robbery and the apartment fire incident.
According to information obtained by the journalists of the newspaper, “Hamburger Abendblatt”, the thieves used an empty apartment above the bank branch to make a large hole in the concrete ceiling using a perforator through which they used to reach the bank rooms.

It is believed that the neighbours did not care about the noise made by the thieves, thinking that their neighbour had started renovating his apartment.
So far, the police have not provided any information on the value of the stolen items. But according to the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper, the damage could reach hundreds of thousands of euros.
