Gregor Fränzel, CEO of Ortel Mobile GmbH has praised the work done by AfroNews to serve the African Community in Germany. He also hailed the annual African Community in Germany Awards organised by AfroNews saying his company was greatly honoured to support the initiative.
The AFRONEWS – Ortel Mobile African Community in Germany Awards celebrate and recognise outstanding achievements of Africans in different fields in Germany. They are a way of appreciating and encouraging Africans who have excelled in different fields and are making a positive contribution to the German society.
The Awards recognise the good work done by African organisations/associations and businesses to promote a positive image of Africa and Africans, facilitate integration of Africans in Germany, promote business opportunities and international cooperation between Germany and African countries.
The inaugural edition of African Community in Germany Awards Gala Night was held in Frankfurt on 23rd October 2021, in collaboration with and fully sponsored by Ortel Mobile, Germany’s leading prepaid sim cards provider for people with a migration background.
Mr. Fränzel was a special guest at the inaugural Awards Gala Night in Frankfurt last year.
“Last year in October, I met AfroNews for the first time and was deeply impressed by what they do for the African Community in Germany. It was a great honour for us to support the Award 2021,” Mr Fränzel said.
Addressing guests at the last Awards Gala Night, Mr Fränzel said Ortel Mobile was proud to have partnered with AfroNews in organising the African Community in Germany Awards.
He stressed that Ortel Mobile was keen on enabling Africans in Germany make cheap calls to Germany and abroad in order to keep in touch with their friends and family abroad.
Renewing Ortel Mobile’s support for the African Community in Germany Awards this year, Mr Fränzel said: “The musical and artistic facets of this fantastic continent (Africa) are not really perceived in Germany. We, as Ortel Mobile, want to support the AfroNews Award in 2022 too, to bring the great diversity of language cultures closer to a wide audience here in Germany.”
“We at AfroNews are honoured and humbled to receive such praise from Mr Gregor Fränzel, CEO of Ortel Mobile GmbH for our commitment to serve the African Community in Germany,” said Stephen Ogongo, editor of AfroNews. “We are indeed grateful to Ortel Mobile for believing in what we do, and for partnering with us in recognising African achievers through the African Community in Germany Awards.”
