Germany: Over 8,600 new coronavirus infections

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in Germany has increased by 8,685 to 437,866 over the past 24 hours, according to data published on October 26 by the Berlin Institute of Robert Koch (RKI). 24 more people from Covid-19 died.

Thus, since the outbreak of the pandemic, the death toll from the disease has increased to 10,056.

About 4,500 people infected have recovered, which means that the total number of people in Germany who left Covid-19 has increased to about 321,600, the RKI reports.

In turn, the latest list of the American Johns Hopkins University shows that 443,189 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection have been reported since the outbreak of the epidemic in Germany, and 10,062 people have died from Covid-19. Overall, more than 43 million infections and more than 1.15 million deaths have been diagnosed in the world since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to the RKI data, infections occur mainly in private contacts and in nursing homes. The institute also noted that the elderly are becoming infected more and more often.Â
