Africans in Germany. The Department of Home Affairs in South Africa announced the increase of passport application fees in Germany as of 1 November 2022.
What is the new South African passport application fees in Germany?
The fees will be as follows:
Passport (32 pages): R1200 = €66,50
Passport (48 pages): R2400 = €133,00
Child Passport: R1200 = €66,50
Emergency passport: R140 = €11,00
The fee payable in respect of replacement of a lost, stolen or damaged South African passport shall be double the fee mentioned.
The news was posted by the South African Embassy in Germany who also shared that residents of Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg must lodge applications and pay any applicable fees at the South African consulate-General in Munich.
What is the situation regarding a visa application?
The South-African Embassy also announced the new operational arrangements for immigration (visa) and added that applications would have to be submitted in person to the South African Embassy in Berlin (except for visa applicants who reside in Bavaria or Baden-Württemberg), and without prior appointment. All visa applications submitted by courier/post beyond this date will not be considered and will be sent back to the applicant.
