Texas school shooting: Families mourn their loved ones after a shooting massacre in Uvalde Texas

At least nineteen children and two adults are dead after a shooting massacre in a primary school in Uvalde, Texas by a teenage gunman, Salvador Ramos.

According to authorities, the shooting begun at 11.32 a.m when the attacker opened fire using an AR -15 in a fourth-grade classroom. The shooter was shot dead by policemen after the deadly incident.

The two adults shot dead were teachers at the elementary school where the incident happened. Currently two patients are at critical condition at the University Health San Antonio. A 66 -year-old and a 10-year-old girl.

USA president Joe Biden while addressing the nation has condemned the action and he has urged people in the US to stand up to the country’s politically powerful gun lobby.

He has also ordered flags to be flown at half staff daily until sunset on Saturday in observance of the shooting.

Vice President Harris Kamala has also condemned the tragedy through her official twitter account.

“As a nation we must have the courage to take action and prevent this from ever happening again. It is long past time four our country to stand up to the gun lobby and pass reasonable gun safety laws”

Congressman Tony Gonzales who represents the area has shared his heartfelt condolences and expressed his devastation. ” I am heartbroken for our South Texas community. It is devastating when our innocent children become the victims of senseless violence.”

The 18-year-old gunman is alleged to have shot his grandmother before heading to the school to carry out the massacre. Luckily his grandmother survived the attack and is slowly recovering.
