Netflix to introduce Squid Game reality show worth $4.56m cash prize

Netflix is planning to introduce a Squid Game reality show worth $4.56m cash prize with contestants drawn from all over the world.

The competition will be a 10-part series with 456 English-language speaking participants from across the globe and it will be filmed in the UK.

The contestants will participate in a series of games inspired by the original Squid Game in pursuit of the cash prize.

Netflix announces release of Squid Game season two

This comes days later after Netflix announced that their will be season two of Squid Game. According to Netflix, the Korean series was the most popular series with more than 1.65 billion views hours after it was released.

The original fictional Squid Game series had contestants play children’s games for a chance to win $4.56m. The participants were killed one by one every time they lost the game until they were only left with one winner who cashed the grand prize of $4.56m.

In a news release by Netflix vice president of unscripted and documentary series, Brandon Regg said

“Squid Game took the world by storm with director Hwangs captivating story and iconic imagery. We are grateful for his support as we turn the fictional world into reality in this massive competition and social experiment.”

The big question remains whether the reality show will include massive killing of participants like the original Squid Game series.

Through their official twitter account, Netflix invited participants to sign in the challenge but didn’t mention whether it will include mass killing of the participants.
