Kurt Zouma has been fined EUR 250,000 by his club West Ham after a viral video of him kicking and dropping one of his cats.
The West Ham defender has faced widespread condemnation for his actions by fans all over. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has taken his other two cats into care. This is to reassure people of the safety of the cats as the investigation is underway.
Adidas footwear has also withdrawn its sponsorship from Zouma after the viral video. Adidas spokesperson in an interview said, “we have concluded our investigation and we can confirm that Kurt Zouma is no longer our contracted athlete.”

The club has also released a statement informing the general public that Zouma is cooperating fully with the investigation. This includes him delivering his two cats to the RSPCA for further assessment.
Over 160,000 people have signed an online petition for the footballer’s prosecution. The Essex police have confirmed that they are liaising with the RSPCA for further investigation. Meanwhile, Zouma is extremely remorseful for his actions and he regrets them. He has apologized for his actions as well.
