Ghanaian Baba Rahman signs with English club Reading

African footballers. Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman has joined Reading on loan for the rest of the season, with an official announcement expected before the summer transfer window closes.

The Ghanaian signed his contract Tuesday afternoon, marking his return after spending last season on loan there.

West Brom were eager to sign Rahman and were neck and neck with Reading for the footballers signature. Clubs in France, Germany, and Spain also expressing interest.

However, the 28-year-old had enjoyed his first spell at Reading and was eager to make move back to the club. He became a fan favourite after performing admirably for them last season.

Rahman made 29 appearances for Reading last season, recording 38 interceptions, 51 tackles, and 90 crosses.

Chelsea signed Rahman for an undisclosed fee, which was reported to be an initial £14 million, with a potential fee of nearly £22 million. His current contract with Chelsea was extended until 2024.
