Some people think it is general amnesty for all irregular immigrants in Italy. This is not true. The measure allows for regularisation of a few categories of workers, not all.
For instance, it allows Italians and migrants in Italy working illegally to be regularised. It is specifically meant for domestic workers and care assistants, and workers in the agricultural sector. The new measure allows migrants in Italy with expired permits working in the above sectors to regularise their status in the country. It also allows both migrants and Italians doing undeclared work to regularise their work status.
