According to media reports, leaders of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag are demanding the introduction of an annual energy allowance for families in the amount of 1,000 euros per child.

We want to introduce an allowance of 1,000 euros per child for the years 2022 and 2023 per household for incomes below 30,000 euros / 60,000 euros (single/married couples ),” read the document.

Both this and next year should be a tax relief for both groups, with the parliamentary group demanding an “energy relief of 3,000 euros”.

Due to the rise of energy prices, the traffic light coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP wants to quickly decide on further relief for citizens.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirms the federal government is currently discussing very carefully on relief packages for citizens and companies.
