Wizkid vs Davido online. African entertainment news. Wizkid and Davido, two of Nigeria’s top musicians, have sparked a social media frenzy with their verbal sparring. These two global superstars boast millions of fans worldwide and have long been seen as rivals. Many Nigerian music enthusiasts identify themselves as either “Team Wizkid” or “Team Davido“.

The feud between them started on Monday night when fans on the social media platform X pleaded with Wizkid to release a new song. In response, Wizkid posted a widely circulated video of a man on his knees, pleading with an unknown person for a favor.

Wizkid playfully told his fans that if they begged him like the man in the clip, he would drop his new song. Previously, social media users speculated that the subject of the video in question was Davido, but the 31-year-old star has not commented on the rumors.

On Monday night, Davido responded to Wizkid’s taunt by stating he refuses to waste his “clout” on “someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again.”

In addition to garnering attention on social media, the clash has ignited discussions on blogs and among fans interacting offline. Fans of both artists continue to passionately defend their idols, and popular music channel Hip TV has launched a poll on X to determine which musician has “won” the battle.

Wizkid and Davido are undeniably two of Africa’s biggest music stars, having won multiple MTV and BET music awards and collaborated with international artists like Drake, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj.
