Senegalese professional footballer and Monaco winger Keita Baldé Diao has been making news with the act of kindness where the footballer rented out apartments to stranded Senegalese in Spain during Covid-19.
Reports came about that claimed that Keita had rented out an entire three-story building in Lleida, Spain, to accommodate homeless Senegalese immigrant workers who had been stranded in the city since the onset of the pandemic.
He not only provided accommodation, but he went the extra mile and even supplied them with free food and clothing until September.
The number of beneficiaries of the star player’s act of kindness is 90. It was also reported that the player is in search of another apartment to increase the number of people he’s hosting.

He was saddened that the speed at which he wants to acquire a new apartment is taking time due to cases of racism – house owners do not want to rent out to black people.
Eye Gambia reported that the star said, “We are in an unfortunate and ugly system were renting a home or anything can give you a problem because of the colour of your skin or being from another country.”
For Keita Baldé Diao this not the first time that he has lent out a hand to his people during the coronavirus pandemic. The 25-year-old earlier donated an amount of €17,000 to help boost the fight against coronavirus in Senegal.
