Tunisia Carthage Eagles crash Nigeria Super Eagles out of AFCON 2021

Youssef Msakni gave the Carthage Eagles a lead with a well-driven shot that caught Maduka Okoye unawares. This is the first time that the Super Eagles have gone behind in the tournament. A lot of fans were predicting a final between the Cameroon hosts and Nigeria but the results were shocking. This is also the first time in history that the AFCON heavyweights are out of the Africa Cup.

Having finished as one of the four third-placed teams, Tunisia was still missing players and their coach shocked the Super Eagles. The Carthage Eagles went into the game with seven players missing after testing positive for COVID 19. Tunisia’s head coach was also missing leaving his assistant to manage the team. This was a big win for Tunisia and its people and they might get the title again after their last win in 2004.
