African news. Gold discovered in Uganda. 31 million tonnes of gold ore are said to have been discovered lying underground in Uganda and plans are underway to have 5,000 kilograms mined daily.
A government spokesman revealed that large gold deposits have been discovered in Uganda. Gold ore deposits with an estimated total of more than 31 M tonnes have been found in various regions of the country said Solomon Muita from the Ministry of Raw Materials Development and Energy told the German Press Agency
According to t-online, It is estimated that more than 320,000 tons of pure gold can be extracted from these deposits.
Experts however doubt the true reality of these quantities claiming they might actually be much lower than assumed.

According to the spokesman, the Ugandan government has reached an agreement with a Chinese company to set up a mining company in Busia in the east of the country. According to the plans, up to 5,000 kilograms of gold are to be mined there every day.
It was not immediately known when funding would begin.
