Who are Kenyan Women in Germany (K.W.I.G)?
Kenyan Women in Germany e.V. (K.W.I.G) is a community-based women empowerment association founded in May 2020. Founded and led by Jacky Achieng’ Kuhn, KWIG’s mission is to support the social and economic integration, promotion and empowerment of Kenyan women in Germany through contextual support.
Kenyan Women in Germany eV (KWIG) is a non-profit network organisation that works to improve the status and position of Kenyan women living in Germany in all areas of life.
KWIG offers dynamic initiatives through the support of networks that allow women from different backgrounds and professions to develop strong professional and social contacts; quality training programs; Leadership qualities and national recognition.
KWIG’s vision is to offer Kenyan women in Germany a place where they can preserve their family unity and join new communities. Some of the activities of the association include organising exhibitions, lectures and vocational training.
The Kenyan Women in Germany e.V. organises intercultural activities, development projects and humanitarian projects and promotes partnerships between Germans and Kenyans who live both here in Germany and in Kenya.
The association has a project fighting against and supporting victims of domestic violence. It also carries out campaigns against racism.
One of the most striking initiatives of KWIG is Bonga Table, which is an interactive media project that brings people together to discuss issues affecting black communities and find possible solutions for a better future. KWIG also has a Leadership Mentorship program to inspire and motivate women to have self-confidence, be more productive, more effective and more agile in their work positions.
KWIG has given many African women a place to call home. It is a Kenyan Women group, but it’s doors are open to all. Both men and women. KWIG offers a platform to educate, give directions, network and to empower all. It encourages Africans to develop in social and economical sectors both in Germany and back in home countries.
What is Kenyan Women in Germany e.V. (K.W.I.G)’s mission project?
Kenyan Women in Germany e.V wants to do more! K.W.I.G exists to facilitate and coordinate the exchange of experiences, ideas, information and strategies to promote empowerment among Kenyan women residing in Germany through networking, communication, capacity building and advocacy at regional and international levels.

What are the AFRONEWS AWARDS?
