Germany: The new restrictions are already in force. The stricter restrictions entered into last weekend and will be in force at least until February 15 this year. They concern, inter alia, the rules of crossing the border with Germany.
Restrictions on entry to Germany
According to new regulations introduced by the government, people coming from high-risk countries (i.e. those with 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants) must present a Covid-19 test performed no later than 48 hours before arrival. High-risk countries currently include Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. For example, the neighboring state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern requires tests from cross-border workers (the test must be performed every 4 days).

Other restrictions that will apply in Germany until February 15:
- NEW: FFP2 or surgical masks are compulsory in shops, means of transport and at airports . In Bavaria, FFP2 face masks are mandatory. (More details HERE )
- restaurants, cafes, theaters, cinemas, entertainment venues, service points, etc. remain closed
- also schools remain closed, instruction is conducted, kindergartens provide care for children only in urgent cases
- private meetings are still allowed between members of one household and one person who does not live in that household,
- all gatherings of the faithful in churches , synagogues and mosques, as well as in meeting places of other religious communities are allowed only under the following conditions: a minimum distance of 1.5 meters must be kept, group singing is prohibited, medical masks must be worn,
- in areas with a high infection rate (more than 200 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants within 7 days), additional restrictions are introduced, e.g. a ban on leaving the apartment without good reason and a curfew,
- in areas with high infection rates, where possible, employers have an obligation to delegate workers to work remotely.
