Foreign visitors upon arriving in Nigeria are required to present their COVID-19 test certificate, failure to which their visas will be revoked.
The decision comes days after Nigeria suspended 100 passports of foreigners who failed to comply with the COVID-19 protocols for arriving passengers, we wrote about it here>>.
Addressing a news conference in the capital Abuja, Immigration chief, Muhammed Babandede said: “We have complied by blocking 100 passports from travel, which means, even if they go to the police and declare those passports missing, they cannot be reissued anywhere in the world.”
Nigerian authorities put in place the new measures to curb the rapid spread of Covid-19 in the country, Aa.com.tr reported.

Babandede made it clear that every visitor entering Nigeria must have the COVID-19 test certificate. “If you don’t do the test, it means you have violated the condition of entering, your visa can be revoked and you can be removed immediately,” he said. “Lack of compliance is a threat to public health. The next visa for global travel is health, especially a COVID certificate.”
Nigeria has so far confirmed 95,934 Total cases with 77,982 recovered and 1,330 deaths.
