Africans in sports. African footballers. Russian Premier League club Sparta Moscow, have confirmed that Victor Moses successfully underwent surgery in Germany. He is expected to spend at least six months on the sidelines as a result of the setback.
He suffered an Achilles tendon injury during Spartak Moscow’s 2-0 league win against Ural two weeks ago. The winger was stretchered off the pitch in pain at 33 minutes and was subbed by Mikhail Ignatov.
It was later confirmed that the 31-year-old injured his Achillies tendon, and would need surgery to have it repaired.
The injury comes at a critical time for the retired Super Eagles star as this was to be his second season after permanently joining the club last year.
His club posted a tweet on their official twitter page, “Victor Moses successfully operated on in Germany. Moses’ recovery should take about six months,”
“We wish Victor successful rehabilitation and look forward to his soonest return to the field!”
Before his injury, Moses scored two goals in four league outings for Guille Abascal’s men.
