League Giants eye Yankuba Minteh. African footballers. Borussia Dortmund is reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh this summer.
Minteh had a great loan spell at Feyenoord last season, scoring 11 goals in all competitions. He made his Champions League debut and played a key role in helping Feyenoord win the KNVB Cup. Despite his success, Minteh hasn’t played for Newcastle yet, as he went straight to the Netherlands on loan after his £8m move last summer.
There are reports that Newcastle may sell Minteh before he gets a chance to play for them. Liverpool, under new manager Arne Slot, had shown interest in the teenager but are not expected to make a move this summer.

Newcastle will ask for more than €46m to sell Minteh, limiting the number of clubs that can afford him. However, Borussia Dortmund has shown interest, with Sky Germany reporting that they have listed Minteh as a potential transfer target. Dortmund, who were Champions League runners-up, recently saw manager Edin Terzic leave and have appointed former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin as the new manager.

Minteh is named after the river that flows through Gambia, with the country’s borders hugging its shores. He grew up in Bakoteh, a suburb of Serekunda, the largest city in Gambia, near the river’s mouth. He is the second-youngest of seven children. His father, a former midfielder and football enthusiast, was a passionate Bayern Munich fan.
