Matthew Perry, who had been open about his struggles with addiction, was found dead in a jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home in October 2023. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that he died from the “acute effects of ketamine.” Drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid addiction, were also contributing factors.
