Extreme Heat Wave Expected in Europe: Temperatures to Surpass 44 Degrees in the Coming Days

Extreme heat wave in Europe. News. In recent days, much of southeastern Europe has been experiencing intense heat, with temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees in some countries in the days ahead. People in other countries should also get ready for scorching temperatures. High heat can lead to health issues and make daily life uncomfortable, causing challenges like difficulty sleeping, reduced activity, and discomfort working outdoors. Are these extreme temperatures also heading towards Germany? Here’s the upcoming weather outlook.

Extreme heat wave in Europe

While southeastern Europe grapples with “deadly heat,” meteorologist Dominik Jung from wetter.net advises that Germany should also prepare for typical summer weather. “We will experience typical summer temperatures throughout the week,” Jung explains. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), this is due to subtropical air being drawn into Germany under the influence of a high-pressure system. Forecasters predict that temperatures in Germany will not reach the extremes seen in southeastern European countries.

Temperatures of 43 to 44 degrees are expected over the next few days – “and not just in Italy or Greece,” Jung notes. The heat will also affect the Balkans, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. “We Germans can count ourselves lucky,” Jung adds. “Fortunately, we will not experience extreme temperatures of up to 40 degrees.”
