Germany Knife attack. News. A serious incident occurred in Nuremberg’s Gleißhammer district, where a woman was attacked with a knife by her husband during a violent argument. The situation prompted a major response from the police and Special Forces, who were able to rescue the woman and arrest the attacker. According to the Mittelfranken Police, they received an emergency call around 7:45 PM on Tuesday, reporting a knife attack on Zerzabelshofstraße. The authorities quickly responded, sending many officers to the scene.

The attacker, a 54-year-old man, injured his 52-year-old wife during a violent argument. In desperation, the woman escaped onto the balcony of their third-floor apartment and waited there until rescue teams arrived. The Bavarian Support Police (USK) used a telescopic fire ladder to safely rescue her, after which she was taken to a clinic in Nuremberg for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the attacker barricaded himself inside the apartment. Despite several attempts by law enforcement to communicate with him, he refused to cooperate. This led to the involvement of Special Forces, who entered the apartment around 11:00 PM, arrested the man, and seized a kitchen knife believed to have been used in the attack. A breathalyzer test showed that the man had a blood alcohol level of over 1 per thousand, according to Tag24.

The attacker now faces charges of grievous bodily harm and making threats. The forensic police have taken over the investigation to determine the exact details of the incident. The prosecutor’s office has requested preventive detention, and the man will be brought before an investigative judge as the investigation continues.
