The speed limits in Germany are currently: a maximum of 50 km/h in built-up areas and up to 100 km/h on ordinary roads outside towns . As for motorways in Germany, there is basically no speed limit, but there is a recommendation to drive at a maximum speed of 130 km/h. This applies to all motor vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of up to 3.5 tonnes. If visibility is less than 50 meters due to rain, snow or fog, do not drive faster than 50 kilometers per hour. In built-up areas in Germany , the speed limit for passenger cars is 50 km/h. On highways and federal roads, truck drivers are subject to a maximum speed of 80 km/h. On other roads outside built-up areas, the speed limit for trucks with a maximum permissible weight of up to 7.5 t is 80 km/h. Heavier vehicles cannot drive faster than 60 km/h.
