Barack Obama, former US President has criticised President Donald Trump’s way of handling the coronavirus crisis.
Without mentioning President Trump, Mr Obama tweeted: “We’ve seen all too terribly the consequences of those who denied warnings of a pandemic. We can’t afford any more consequences of climate denial. All of us, especially young people, have to demand better of our government at every level and vote this fall.”

President Trump’s administration has been widely criticised for handling in a light manner the coronavirus outbreak which has crippled the U.S. economy. The virus has so far killed more than 3,100 people in the US by Tuesday.

He initially downplayed the pandemic and even suggested opening up the economy by Easter. He has however announced that the strict social distancing guidelines will remain in place through April 30.
