COVID-19, Why the vaccine does not affect women’s fertility

Dr Marianne Röbl-Mathieu, gynaecologist and member of Germany’s Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO), explains why a COVID-19 vaccination does not in any way affect women’s fertility.

In fact the German Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics expressly recommends that women intending to become pregnant should receive the COVID-19 vaccine and that it does not in fact affect women’s fertility.

Dr Marianne Röbl-Mathieu explained that the current COVID-19 vaccines have been tested on thousands of adults, including women of childbearing age and women who intend on getting pregnant.

It should be noted that before approving any vaccine, the European Medicines Agency requires extensive trials. The same were also conducted for the COVID-19 vaccines.

The studies conducted Have no indication that the administration could lead to any damage of the reproductive organs or in any way, affect women’s fertility.

Have there been cases of the COVID-19 vaccine affecting women’s fertility?

If there was any chance that the vaccine would make women infertile, then people who have recovered from COVID-19 would also be infertile. But nowhere in the world has COVID-19 infection resulted in infertility.

The German Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics expressly recommends that women intending to become pregnant should be vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as the vaccine is available.

Health Minster Jens Spahn had said the government was very soon doing away with the the priority list and that by July all people in Germany would be vaccinated. We wrote about it HERE.
