Netflix to release “Òlòtūré: The Journey”. Netflix has set a global release date of June 28 for the highly anticipated series “Òlòtūré: The Journey,” a sequel to the 2020 film “Òlòtūré” produced by Ebony Life Studios.
“Òlòturé” follows Òlòturé (Sharon Ooja), a young Nigerian journalist who goes undercover to reveal the harsh world of human trafficking. She risks everything to find the truth, showing how sex workers in Lagos are recruited and exploited overseas.
The original film “Òlòtūré“ debuted on Netflix in 2020, earning praise for its portrayal of the harsh reality of human trafficking. In the sequel, “Òlòtūré: The Journey,” her fight against corruption continues as she struggles to survive and make her way to Europe.
The decision to expand the story into a series format allows for a deeper look into the complex issues surrounding human trafficking and its wide-reaching effects.
