The international sports court CAS has shortened the ban for Cameroonian goal keeper Andre Onana who had a doping violation. The Ajax Goalkeepeer had been suspended from participating in any games for a period of 12 months from February 2021 to 2022.
His suspension has been shortened by three months and will now end on November 4, 2021.
The goalkeeper is allowed to resume training two months before the deadline, on September 4th. Ajax announced that Onana, with the support of his lawyers, told three CAS representatives his version of the story in a four-hour online meeting.
The UEFA itself was pounding on maintaining the twelve-month ban.
On the morning of October 30, Andre Onana was feeling unwell. He wanted to take a pill to ease the discomfort. Unknowingly, however, he took Lasimac, a drug that his wife had previously been prescribed.

Andre Onana faced confusion resulting in him mistakenly taking his wife’s medicine, ultimately causing the measure of being banned to be taken by UEFA against the goalkeeper.
