Nollywood star Funke Akindele finally speaks up, after arrest on violation of quarantine measures

Nollywood star Funke Akindele who was arrested over violating quarantine laws during the coronavirus lockdown took to her Instagram to post a message of encouragement and apologise to her fans.

Akindele and JJC Skillz on Saturday, April 4 hosted a party at their house which sparked Twitter backlash the following day. The party was to celebrate Skillz’s birthday.

The actor thanked all her fans for the feedback she received since her arrest and she said she has learnt a lot since then.

The star had not been sighted since her arrest with famous husband JJC Skills.

The couple were both found guilty in court for hosting a house party despite he lockdown order issued due to the coronavirus.

She posted a video that thanked her fans for the constant love an dsupport given to her during her scenario.

“Thank you for all the love, support, feedback and calls, I really appreciate. These past few weeks has been a learning curve but we must keep moving forward, she said. “My dear friends, coronavirus is real. We all must continue to collaborate with the Lagos state government and the federal government by staying at home.

The star thanked all the medical workers who have been at the front line of the pandemic since it emerged, and even before it took effect, and paid condolences to those who had family and friends who had lost lives.

The nollywood star emphasised the need for everyone to stay indoors and stay safe during this trying time due to the virus as it is the best chance that we have against the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple was sentenced to 14 days of community service with a fine of N100, 000 each.
