Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta lifts the nationwide curfew that was imposed March last year to curb the spread of the coronavirus, with immediate effect.
Speaking during the celebration of the Nation Public Holiday on Wednesday, Mashujaa day – which means Heroes day, Kenyatta said infections had fallen, with the daily positivity rate dropping below 5% in the past two weeks.
KTN news reported that the president said, ‘The nationwide dusk to dawn curfew that has been in effect from the 27th of March 2020, be and is hereby vacated with immediate effect. ‘
He also increased the number of people who can attend a religious service to two thirds of a congregation, from just a third previously. (read more below)

The President also spoke on lowering the price of fuel and Electricity by 30 percent to give Kenyans relief.
