9 year old black boy dies after routine surgery in Hamburg – doctors face serious allegations.

A 9-year-old black boy died after a routine operation which initially proceeded without complications but the boy suffered bleeding in the recovery room and a few weeks later he died.

His parents fought for a lawsuit against the doctors and now 15 years later, the jury is to find out what went wrong in an ENT practice in Hamburg in March 2007 and who is responsible for it.

The two doctors had to answer to the Hamburg regional court and during the start of the trial they remained silent.

The trial was against Dr. Horst B. (64) and Dr. Hubert H. (68) who were charged with bodily harm resulting in death or aiding and abetting by omission.

t-online wrote, according to the prosecutor, the boy was not adequately monitored in the recovery room. In addition, the practice was not equipped in terms of staff and equipment as required by medical standards. This is what the accusation of aid against the co-owner refers to. He was aware it was “contrary to standards”, but nevertheless approved such interventions and carried them out himself.

If found guilty, they face between three and 15 years in prison.

What is the case against Faouzane (9 year old black boy who dies after surgery)?

Fouzane was born on March 14, and in 2007, Dr. B operated on his nose performing a routine procedure. The operation went well but when it came to the boy’s recovery he breathed in his own blood and nobody noticed.

According to the indictment, the practice of the two doctors was neither staffed nor technically equipped for such interventions. The patient information was also said to have been insufficient reported BILD.

The anaesthesiologist (61), who was present during the operation, was fined 9,000 euros in 2009 and the case against the two doctors was brought forth many times.

Only after two complaints by Faouzane’s mother’s lawyer before the Federal Federal Constitutional Court did the public prosecutor’s office resume the investigation in 2020.

B. has to answer for bodily harm resulting in death, H. for aiding and abetting by omission. The defence attorneys announced on Wednesday that their only option would be an acquittal.
