Ghanaian-German footballer Jamie Leweling tests positive for coronavirus, to miss next Bundesliga match

Ghanaian-German footballer Jamie Leweling will be missing a Bundesliga match after testing positive for coronavirus.

Ghanaian-German footballer, Jamie Leweling, will miss Greuther Furth’s Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen due to testing positive for coronavirus.

Jamie Leweling tested positive for coronavirus and has since been isolated. this makes the footballer unavailable for Saturday’s match.

The Ghanaian’s absence from the game comes as a blow given his team was looking for a win after a stalemate at Hoffenheim last weekend.

In that game, Leweling was given a special role which he handled well and delivered for his team.

Fürth could be relegated come the match on Saturday and should they stand any chance of evading a relegation then they must beat Bayer Leverkusen.

According to Ghanasoccernet, Fürth enter Saturday’s contest knowing that a win is required to keep their hopes of survival alive, although even then, three points may not be enough to avoid the drop.

Leweling, who snubbed a Ghana call-up in November 2020, has five goals and one assist in more than 30 league games this season.
