Nigerian Film Director Niyi Akinmolyan, and his team, have made a short( short film or video) that teaches children the importance of staying home and staying safe away from the dreaded coronavirus.
The short film has been recorded in English. Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba for a large audience of English speakers and Nigerians to watch and understand and is available free of charge, also for download.
Niyi Akinmolyan is well known for his works in directing major Nollywood blockbusters like; The Set Up, Chief Daddy, The Wedding Party 2, The Arbitration, Out of Luck, Falling. Founder, and MALIKA.
He is the founding father of anthill studios.
Niyi posted a picture on is Instagram thanking his team for a job well done again calling them ‘ANTHILL HEROES!!!’ He posted a picture of his team hard at work coming up with the animation that is now changing the outlook children, and some adults, have on the coronavirus and importance of staying home.

“I haven’t seen my staff face to face for three weeks now. In that period, we have done two viral animated PSAs to help people understand the virus and the lock down.
They all worked from home. This goes to show the potential of the work we do and why we need more investment in animation in Nigeria.
The producer encouraged a lot of people to share the video and show it to their family and friends. He commended a fan by saying,” I hope you shown your kids, cousins, nephews and nieces. Remember to engage them as well. Beyond the pandemic, it’s good for kids to learn the importance of constant hand washing. “
Niyi has often emphasized on the importance of the film industry in creating awareness, creating new forms of income and in maximization of imagination and creativity. This is one of the reasons he started his production company.
