Kenyan in UK Kate Wangeci dies, appeal for support to cater for funeral expenses

Kate Wangeci, a Kenyan lady in the UK dies from a great fight with cancer and there’s an appeal for support to cater for funeral expenses.

The announcement was made by her close friend and companion, Lydia Tett Olet, who posted about it on Facebook. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 and the cancer went into remission before it re-surfaced in full force at least 6 months ago.

She came to the UK in 2015 to work and afford a better life for her children and was the sole breadwinner for her family. Kate (47) had 4 children, the youngest being age 9.

She lost her battle to cancer on 7th October 2021 after being in Guy’s Hospital and Queen Elizabeth hospital where she rested for a period of about 6 months.

Her family in Thika is trying to raise money for her funeral and children who are in Thika, Kenya. Any donations to this course would be appreciated by her family.

A Gofundme link had been shared by her close friend Lydia Tett Olet, to be able to facilitate her send off and also to be able to assist her family back in Kenya.
