Africans in Germany: Afrika Festival Tübingen pushed to 2022

Afrika Festival Tübingen in Germany organiser Susan Tatah reveals that the double event has high chances of happening in 2022.

The festival was to be held in 2021( we wrote about it HERE) but due to the COVID-19 pandemic restricting movement and interaction, it has been pushed to 2022.

Each year the International Afrika Festival Tübingen attracts more than 30,000 people from all parts of the world to exchange ideas, network, and a have a taste of Africa away from Africa by enjoying African music and dances, food, and buy African products. (read more below)

The theme of the 10th edition of the International Afrika Festival Tübingen is SANKOFA – a new decade for a United African Agenda. SANKOFA is a metaphorical symbol used by the Akan people of Ghana to express the importance of reaching back to knowledge gained in the past and bringing it into the present in order to make positive progress. This year’s Festival will therefore be a call to Africans to value the traditional knowledge, wisdom, skills and resources and find a way of making best use of them for the development of the continent. Susah Tatah posted on her page that, “Since 2022 is very close, our guts to hold the festival are even greater than ever. Here’s my advice to Interested participants, around the world.’

The Afrika Festival Tübingen event organiser added a list that attendees are required to heed to before they attend the 2 mega events:

  • Plan both events in your calendar (2022)
  • Set a budget plan
  • Be educated on COVID-19 travel regulations 2022
  • Check your travel documents

She added that registration would be available from September – November 2021.
