AFRONEWS Germany is excited to announce the AFRONEWS AWARDS Gala Night 2023 – this is the event of the year as it shines a spotlight on Africans in Germany, and Europe, doing amazing works and representing the continent.
The eventful night is one that is set apart from all others because it provides the opportunity to our brothers and sisters to make their own mark in history. The Awards Gala Night will be going down on the 21st October 2023 at 17:00 UHR at the Bürgerzentrum Niederhöchstadt, Montgeronplatz 1, 65760 Eschborn. Save the date!!
Nominations will open on 20th February 2023.
What are the AFRONEWS AWARDS?
The AFRONEWS AWARDS celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements of Africans in different fields in Germany. They are a way of appreciating and encouraging Africans who have excelled in different fields and are making a positive contribution to the German society.
The Awards also recognise the good work done by African organisations/associations and businesses to promote a positive image of Africa and Africans, facilitate integration of Africans in Germany, promote business opportunities and international cooperation between Germany and African countries, and above all, make Germany and the world a better place for all of us.
Stephen Ogongo, editor of AFRONEWS and Founder of AFRONEWS AWARDS said: “There are many Africans who have excelled in different fields and are making a positive contribution to the German society. We also have many African organisations/associations carrying out exceptional activities to promote a positive image of Africa and Africans, facilitate integration of Africans in Germany and promote business opportunities and international cooperation between Germany and African countries. Unfortunately, most of these efforts are hardly recognised.”
He added: “The AFRONEWS AWARDS will recognise these achievers and role models from our communities who deserve not only to be recognised and celebrated but also encouraged to continue the good work they are doing.”
The AFRONEWS AWARDS Gala Night is organised by Afronews, newspaper for Africans in Germany in collaboration with Chef Gillian Lwangu Piroth, the CEO of My Ethnic Cooking & Catering (MEC).

The winners of the 2022 AFRONEWS AWARDS were celebrated at an amazing event where Togolese talented band Toofan performed.
The high-class, amazing, glamorous, superb and exceptional event was graced by; Mrs Bärbel Grade, the First Councillor of Eschborn, MMr Allison O. Valentine – First Secretary (Information, Culture and Education) – Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Germany, Mr Prince Makurudze – Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Germany, Mrs Melanie Nolte – Vice President of the Frankfurt Chamber of Industries and Commerce, Mr Gregor Fränzel – the CEO of Ortel Mobile and the main sponsor of the event, Mr Dimitrios Tsakiroglou – Ria Money Transfer Retail Manager, Germany, and Mr Kofi Adu Frimpong – Taptap Send Growth Launcher.
High-class African dinner served at the Gala Night was prepared by Gillian Lwangu Piroth, the CEO of My Ethnic Cooking & Catering (MEC) and her team of chefs.
