What is Afrika-Karibik?
Afrika-Karibik is focused on voluntary commitment to bring people from different cultures together in order to create an opportunity to break down prejudices and create networks, thus making a contribution to integration. In addition, a counterweight to the negative image of Africa that often dominates here is to be created. What better way to achieve these goals than with such a family festival of encounters and international understanding, where people of different cultures and nations can meet and get to know each other in a great festive atmosphere.
The festival offers handicrafts, fabrics, clothes, furniture, musical instruments, CDs and DVDs, toys and much more. You can also have your hair African styled. Food and beverages include aromatic delicacies from African and Caribbean cuisine, as well as wines from South Africa and Caribbean cocktails.
Festival goers can enjoy live music performances and aromatic African and Caribean cuisine, wines from South Africa and Caribean cocktails. The main program features live music with great bands and a disco with super DJs, especially for young people.
For children there is a bouncy castle and a soccer arena for boys and girls from different cultures to play together; also a movement program with dance and a project for artistic face painting .

What are the AFRONEWS AWARDS?
The AFRONEWS AWARDS celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements of Africans in different fields in Germany. They are a way of appreciating and encouraging Africans who have excelled in different fields and are making a positive contribution to the German society.
