Child benefit, known as Kindergeld, is a universal benefit provided to all children, regardless of their residence. In 2024, the family allowance remains unchanged at EUR 250 per child. Some parents may be eligible for additional financial support, known as Kinderzuschlag, which is an extra amount added to Kindergeld. This supplement is available to families with moderate income who are self-sufficient and do not rely on social benefits. The specific amount of the Kindergeld supplement is determined based on your income. Here are the payment dates for Kindergeld and Kinderzuschlag in January 2024.
