According to media reports, three people were arrested. However, it is unclear whether they are actually connected to this case of alleged people smuggling, “News4SA” quoted San Antonio Police Commissioner William McManus as saying.

The police said they are looking for the driver of the truck who had abandoned his vehicle in a remote area.

The truck was spotted by a worker at a nearby business who heard a call for help and came out to check, on opening the doors they found a number of bodies inside.
