A special event for professional women in Germany will be held in Hanau on 30th October 2021 – Woman’s Day event Hanua.
The event titled a “Woman’s day, be yourself”, is dedicated to professional women from all backgrounds, especially to mothers who hardly have time to take care of themselves.
It will feature three special sessions conducted by Gillian Lwangu Piroth, a professional chef; Carine Landau, a professional stylist and Julia Reisinger, a professional photographer.
Ms Piroth, who is founder and CEO of My Ethnic Cooking & Catering (MEC), the first African cookery school in Germany registered in Eschborn, will conduct a cooking class to teach the participants how to prepare healthy African dishes. She will show them the tricks of preparing extraordinary three course African dishes. (We wrote about her here: Meet Gillian Lwangu Piroth, the Kenyan lady who founded the first African cookery school in Germany)
Ms Landau, a professional stylist from France will show the participants a variety of styling techniques, advising them on how to style themselves in simple manner and within a short time. They will learn how to look as fashionable and appealing as possible.
After learning the styling techniques and putting them into practice, the participants will have a photoshoot with Ms Reisinger, a professional photographer. Ms Reisinger is the founder of the Frankfurt based Julia Reisinger Fotografie.
Ms Piroth said that some of the dishes participants will have a chance of learning to prepare and tasting include indigenous African leafy greens, root vegetables, mashed tubers, beans and many more.
“As much as I have integrated into my European lifestyle, I always hold the roots of my African heritage close to my heart and my taste buds. Sharing soul food with generations to come helps to close the cultural gap for Africans living in diaspora worldwide. My goal is to bring all people together through dishes that sustain the body, mind and soul,” Ms Piroth said.
The “Woman’s day” will indeed be a colourful event since all women participating from different communities are expected to come dressed in their traditional dresses/outfits.
The “Woman’s day” event will be held on 30th October 2021 from 13:00hrs CET at Philipp-Heck-Straße 10, 63457 Hanau.
Since there are a limited number of places available, all women who would like to attend the “Woman’s day” event are urged to book in advance by sending an email to Julia Reisinger Fotografie – [email protected]
