This year’s Kenyan Cultural Day in Frankfurt am Main will be held on 10th June.
The interactive event organised by Rafikis am Main e.v. aims at preserving and promoting the rich Kenyan heritage in Germany.
Highlights of the day will include: performances by Rafikis Maasai Dancers; a colourful children’s programme; fashion shows; presentations and Swahili crush courses from Mizizi Integration e.V; presentations from a children’s initiative (Watoto Wetu Ujerumani) by Jacky Nyalwal; Chakacha dances; exhibitions from various groups; live music from one man guitar and many more.
Different types of Kenyan dishes will be served. And for those who would like to learn how to prepare Kenyan food, there will be a special program called “Lets cook Kenyan”.
The event will be streamed online by a Popular Kenyan Television Channel.
And to crown it all, Rafikis plan to host a big after party featuring the best East African DJs in Germany.
“This is an event that everyone deserves to know about,” say the organisers of the event. “Let’s come together and celebrate our motherland.”
The Kenyan Cultural Day will be hosted by Philly Yambo Makora, a Kenyan Public Relations Consultant in Mainz.
H.E Joseph Maguti, the Kenyan Ambassador to Germany has been invited to be the Guest of Honour.
