Yankuba Minteh injury update. African footballers. Brighton’s Yankubah Minteh is set to play against Manchester United this weekend after being taken off during the team’s win over Everton in their first Premier League game.
The €35 million summer signing from Newcastle had a strong first half at Goodison Park, but was forced to leave the match after a collision with Vitaliy Mykolenko, following concussion protocol. Minteh, who plays for Gambia, wasn’t happy about being taken off, feeling he could continue, but the good news is he will be available for the Manchester United game at the Amex on Saturday.
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler explained at a press conference: “We follow the Premier League’s rules for player safety, but he will be ready to play.”

Hurzeler praised Minteh’s debut performance, saying it was disappointing to see him leave early but emphasizing the importance of player health. He expressed confidence that Minteh would be back and highlighted his impressive impact on the game, especially in transitioning to attack.
