The 25-year-old striker, who was previously linked to a move to Stamford Bridge over the summer, made his intentions clear after scoring his fourth goal for Galatasaray in their 2-1 win against Besiktas in a thrilling Turkish Super Lig derby. When asked about his plans for the rest of the season, Osimhen replied, “Yes, I am here,” a sentiment supported by Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September, the Nigerian forward has been in excellent form, scoring in three straight league matches. He notably impressed with a stunning overhead goal against Antalyaspor last weekend, marking his successful return from injury.

His latest goal came in the 67th minute against Besiktas, where he expertly headed in a perfect cross from Gabriel Sara, extending Galatasaray’s lead before the visitors managed a consolation goal in stoppage time.
Despite Chelsea’s ongoing search for a striker who can score at least 20 goals a season, with Osimhen seen as a top candidate, the Blues may need to explore other options given his commitment to Galatasaray. Osimhen’s strong performances have impressed Chelsea legends John Mikel Obi and Didier Drogba, who believe he would be a great fit for the club.
Under coach Okan Buruk, Galatasaray has benefited from Osimhen’s contributions, with him recording four goals and four assists in just six appearances. The team currently leads the Turkish Super Lig with an impressive 28 points from 10 matches, maintaining a great record of eight wins and two draws in their last 10 games across all competitions.
The recent victory over Besiktas has allowed Galatasaray to pull ahead by six points over second-placed Samsunspor, while Besiktas remains in fourth place with 20 points. With Osimhen committed to Galatasaray, Chelsea may have to wait until 2025 to acquire the former Lille star, who is undoubtedly raising his profile in Turkish football.
