African footballers. Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, has picked Germany as his favourite to win the Qatar 2022 World Cup, even ahead of his team, the Black Stars.

Hamburg-born Otto Addo admits the odds are against Germany, but is rooting for his country of birth to win the Qatar World Cup.

The German team were shocked by Japan in their first game of the tournament, losing 2-1 after taking a first-half lead at the Khalifa International Stadium.

“To win the World Cup? Phew! Normally I’ll like to go with Germany, but the odds are not really in their favour at the moment,” Addo said at a press conference.

The Black Stars went against South Korea on the 29th November 2022 in an amazing score of 2 – 3. The goals were executed by Mohammed Salisu and Mohammed Kudusu.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced the players to the squad on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 where a detailed list was shared with the world regarding the choice of players Ghana would be playing.

Nigerian fans stormed the pitch and chased the footballers attempting to flee at the Abuja National Stadium after the final whistle to the game. Numerous videos on Social Media depicted supporters of the ‘Super Eagles’ leaving their seats in the stands and storming the field in anger.

The Ghana National Team won with a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the playoffs to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar. Arsenal’s Thomas Partey gave the visitor the lead in the 10th minute.

For the first time since the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Nigeria missed the world’s biggest football tournament.
