Christopher Mauboulou, a footballer who came to play in the French first division with Sporting Club de Bastia and that last year he wore the shirt of a regional team, died at the age of 30 from cardiac arrest while playing a game with some friends as reported by Spainnews.
Bastia announced on his Twitter account “the tragic death” of Christopher Mauboulou and offered “his sincere condolences” to his family, friends and relatives. “His death occurred in the city of Montfermeil, on the outskirts of Paris, where he born.
Midfielder played 29 games in the French first division and 58 in the second. He distinguished himself in particular in the elite of French football with Bastia.
After an injury in 2015 that left him without a place in the Corsican club, he went to play in Greece with PAS Giannina in the 2016-17 season, before returning to France with second-division Nancy in 2018-2019.
In March 2020, when all the championships in France were suspended due to the coronavirus, he had played two games with Thonon-Evian, from Regional 1.
