Eddie Nketiah transfer news. African footballers. Crystal Palace are close to finalizing a deal to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah. The bid is expected to be around €29 million with an additional €6 million in potential add-ons, and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
Earlier this summer, Palace discussed the possibility of signing Nketiah with Arsenal, after Nottingham Forest’s attempt to secure the 25-year-old fell through, despite agreeing on a fee of up to €34 million. Marseille also showed interest earlier in the transfer window but couldn’t reach an agreement on the price.

Nketiah, who signed a new contract with Arsenal in June 2022, is under contract until 2027. However, he has yet to make a competitive appearance this season, having only featured in pre-season matches. He was an unused substitute in Arsenal’s first two Premier League games, both of which they won 2-0.
Meanwhile, fellow Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus is set to undergo a scan after suffering a minor groin injury that kept him out of action.

Crystal Palace, who have lost their opening two league matches, are in need of reinforcements up front. Jean-Philippe Mateta has started both games, while Odsonne Edouard remains another striking option. Palace also lost Jordan Ayew, who recently joined Leicester City, and manager Oliver Glasner has expressed a desire for more signings before the transfer window closes on Friday.
