With Jesus out for the foreseeable future, Arsenal is searching for a striker in the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta has acknowledged the need for more attacking power, as the team still has a chance to challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title.
One of the strikers on Arsenal’s radar is Victor Osimhen. The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and has been performing well for the Turkish club. Football Insider reports that Arsenal has made contact about signing Osimhen this January, but it is unclear if they will be able to complete the deal before the transfer window closes.
This follows news that Manchester United also made a move for Osimhen in January. Journalist Kagan Dursun shared that United recently offered €70 million (£59m, $72m) for the striker and even sent officials to Istanbul to convince him. However, they returned to Manchester without a deal.
