Knife attack in Würzburg. News. Late Monday night into Tuesday, a violent knife attack occurred in a hostel on Haugerring in Würzburg, resulting in the death of a 42-year-old German man. Initial police reports indicate that the incident happened around 12:10 AM, when an argument broke out between a 54-year-old Slovakian guest and the German man in a shared area of the hostel.

During the argument, the older man picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim several times. The reasons for the fight are still unclear. A guest who saw what happened quickly called for help. Unfortunately, assistance came too late for the 42-year-old, who died at the scene from his injuries. Although the suspect fled after the attack, police were able to find him nearby shortly afterward.

Following the public prosecutor’s orders, the suspect has already appeared before a judge. Because of the serious charges against him, pre-trial detention is being considered. According to Tag24, the Würzburg criminal police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact details of the crime.

According to police, the exact details of the attack are still unclear. Around 8:00 a.m., an argument started between two travellers. At one point, one of the women took out a knife-like object from her pocket and attacked the other, hurting her in the leg.

As the train was arriving at the station in Offenburg, the attacker struck another woman, stabbing her in the arm, according to BILD. Police confirmed that both women had only minor injuries.

The attacker, described as a woman in her 40s, seemed disoriented. Witnesses reported that she spoke in an “Eastern European language.” Her hair was tied back, and she was wearing a light-colored jacket. Despite a thorough search, the attacker has not yet been found. A police spokesman told BILD: “Fortunately, the women who were attacked only suffered minor injuries. The unknown perpetrator is still at large.”
