Minimum wage rise for apprentices in Germany starting 2025
According to the dpa news agency, the minimum wage for apprentices in their first year of vocational training will increase by 4.7%, rising from 649 euros to 682 euros gross per month. This change affects the 324 professions included in Germany’s dual vocational training system and is mandatory starting in 2020.

The increases for the following years of apprenticeship will be as follows:
- Second year: 805 euros gross per month
- Third year: 921 euros gross per month
- Fourth year: 955 euros gross per month
However, these new salary thresholds apply only to apprenticeship contracts signed from 2025 onward. Those already in vocational training will not benefit from these new amounts, as reported by echo24.de.
